RTC2016A - Recognise Plants

RTC2016A - Recognise Plants is Nationally Recognised Training on the Introduction to Tree Anatomy and Identification

Description

Correct identification of a tree species is the first step in prescribing tree care and remedial treatments.  Arborists’ and Tree Officers’ should be able to identify a tree before attempting an accurate diagnosis and the provision of recommendations for their staff and/or contractors.

The amazing thing about nature is that it is full of recognisable factors.  What this course will do is give you a solid base process for relating visual signals to the specialist field of arboriculture.

You will learn how plants are named, where to find out about ones you don’t know, what to collect to help you to do so and what resources you will need.

Trees have many indicators including, form, bark, foliage, flowers, size, fruit and even roots in some cases. Of course all these can vary within the same species as different plants reproduce variable offspring. You’ll look at their nature in a different way after this training session and almost certainly want to know more.
